There are some changes underway at the
Grand Valley Cat Project!
The GVCP coordinator position has been generously funded by a grant from the Animal Assistance Foundation since its inception. As this grant cycle wraps up and we find ourselves continuing to adapt to the realities of our COVID-impacted world, we are making changes to our team’s structure to focus on bolstering our core services in anticipation of an influx of pets and an increase in demand for pet assistance. One key change is that we are redeploying our GVCP coordinator to an on-site position at the shelter, which means we will no longer offer hands-on Trap-Neuter-Return services.
The 376 spay/neuter surgeries provided by GVCP over the past two years have made a tremendous impact in our community and prevented thousands of kittens from being born on the streets, but our work to spay and neuter every cat in the 81501 ZIP code is not done. The GVCP remains an important program of the Roice-Hurst Humane Society and we will continue to provide trap rentals and free spay/neuter surgery vouchers for cats in the 81501 ZIP code.
If you live in the 81501 ZIP code and own or can trap a feral cat that needs a spay/neuter surgery, call us at 970-434-7337.

If you do not reside in the 81501 zip code but need resources for controlling the cat problem in your neighborhood, please visit our Pet Resources page.
If you are in the 81501 zip code, the GVCP can help with spay/neuter vouchers for controlling the cat population in your neighborhood. If you are outside the 81501 target area, we can assist in loaning traps and refer you to resources for TNR – Trap, Neuter/Spay, Return.
